Strategies for playing soccer have changed with time,, altering the nature of the game. Beginning with the early classic formation models up to the modern data-informed formation models, there have always been new formation models. This paper aims to understand the evolution of soccer tactics and analyze various formations, tactic makers, and present-day tactics.
